Minister of Energy Meets COP30 President-Designate

Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz met in Riyadh with Ambassador André Corrêa do Lago, the President-Designate of the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30), scheduled to take place in November 2025 in Belém, in Brazil’s Amazon region.
The two officials discussed cooperation on climate action and joint efforts to advance the goals of the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Paris Agreement, aiming for outcomes that are inclusive, balanced, and take national circumstances into account.
They also explored Saudi Arabia’s climate initiatives, including renewable energy deployment and efforts to manage, reduce, and remove emissions through the Saudi Green and Middle East Green initiatives. The meeting further highlighted Saudi Arabia’s adoption of the Circular Carbon Economy (CCE) framework and other national and regional programs to address climate change.
