U.S. Secretary of Energy Tours Aramco and Shaybah Field

Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz accompanied U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright and his delegation during visits to Saudi Aramco’s headquarters in Dhahran and the Shaybah oil field, as part of the Secretary’s multi-day visit to the Kingdom.

At Aramco’s headquarters, the ministers were received by President and CEO Amin H. Nasser and senior executives. Secretary Wright toured the company’s research and innovation facilities, including the EXPEC Advanced Research Center, the Fourth Industrial Revolution Center, and the Accelerated Innovation Laboratory. He was briefed on Aramco’s innovation initiatives and technological capabilities, and its role in strengthening the security and efficiency of global energy supplies.

The Minister later accompanied Secretary Wright to the Shaybah oil field in the Empty Quarter, where he was briefed on production and administrative facilities. The visit concluded with a tour of the Shaybah Wildlife Sanctuary, part of Aramco’s environmental initiatives.
