Community Development

Scope of Work

  • Support and encourage the establishment of nonprofit organizations under the supervision of Ministry of Energy, contribute to increasing their performance efficiency, and resolve any difficulties they may encounter to enable their practice and development to realize the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
  • Activate the role of social responsibility within energy companies, both internally towards their employees and their families and externally towards society and the environment, and disseminate the culture of social responsibility within the energy sector.
  • Encourage through a robust strategy companies and entities within the energy ecosystem to contribute to raising awareness and increasing their level of commitment to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to ensure the energy sector’s significant contribution in the national social responsibility.
  • Support, encourage, and develop social innovation in the energy sector.
  • Promote volunteering culture in the energy ecosystem and coordinate volunteering efforts between volunteers and benefiting entities.

Tasks

  1. 1

    Review, monitor and support requests to establish nonprofit organizations in the energy sector to ensure maximum benefit for society.

  2. 2

    Contribute to empowering nonprofit organizations in the energy sector through disseminating nonprofit work culture, raising awareness about it, highlighting its role in the national economy, sustaining it through organizing events and meetings, and supporting nonprofit organizations in providing different beneficiaries with their services.

    Develop a database for studies and research on social development in the energy sector in the Kingdom and abroad and work as a liaison between the Ministry and all concerned entities on topics related to development research in the energy sector.

    Coordinate and establish cooperation and partnerships in the field of social development.

  5. 5

    Establish and develop plans and activities that contribute to encouraging and developing social innovation in the Saudi energy sector, supervise the sector’s social investment activities, and produce, manage and promote the development of ideas and solutions for social entrepreneurship.

    ​Build, develop, and empower national capacities in the field of social development and promote the concept of volunteering​.
