The TAQATech Energy Accelerator is a specialized acceleration program developed by the Ministry of Energy with The Garage to support startups in the energy sector, supervised by a selected group of local and international experts and specialists to accelerate and foster the growth of innovative, sustainable, and efficient technology startups within the energy sector.

The accelerator targets five key areas in the energy sector that align with the national priorities of the Ministry of Energy:

  • Direct air carbon capture
  • Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS)
  • Clean hydrogen technologies
  • Artificial Intelligence solutions in the energy sector
  • Social entrepreneurship in the energy sector
  • Other energy sectors

  • Market access
  • Access to investors
  • Co-working spaces
  • A conducive entrepreneurial environment

  • Energy entrepreneurs with innovative solutions or startups that contribute to developing sustainable energy technologies.
  • Early-stage or advanced-stage technology startups working on solutions or products within one of the accelerator's focus areas.
  • Researchers and developers with research or prototypes that are commercially viable.

There is no registration fee

  • The TAQATech Energy Accelerator Program will be held in Riyadh, at the headquarters of The Garage within the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST).
  • The program therefore requires participants to attend and participate in-person.

Yes, a founder and a co-founder are required to apply. A minimum of two and a maximum of ten individuals per company are permitted, including both partners and team members.

Yes, you can apply. A specialized review team will assess your application and determine its eligibility and suitability for the program.

The program is offered in both Arabic and English.

Registration is limited to existing companies or entities that have developed a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), including seed and pre-seed stages. Individuals are not permitted to register

  • The founder and co-founder must be physically present in Riyadh for the duration of the three-month program concluding with demo day.
  • The technology company must be related to the energy sector, either within one of the five targeted focus areas or other energy fields. Startups outside of the focus areas will be individually reviewed by the selection team to determine their suitability and eligibility for the program.
  • Ability to issue a commercial registration for the company if one does not already exist.
