About the Deputyship
Scope
The Deputyship represents the Kingdom’s interests within OPEC and non-OPEC countries participating in the Declaration of Cooperation (DoC). It supports strategic decision-making to achieve stability and balance in the global oil markets, in alignment with Saudi Arabia’s objectives to maximize sustainable oil revenues. It monitors global economic and oil market developments, analyzes supply-demand dynamics and inventory levels, and provides comprehensive recommendations on the Kingdom's oil supply strategies. It also conducts technical research and studies on oil market, prepares periodic reports, and develops supporting media messaging.
Missions

Support the Minister of Energy in OPEC and non-OPEC Ministerial Meetings (ONOMM) by providing strategic recommendations on oil supply policies, analyzing market scenarios, and developing negotiation options with OPEC+ countries.

Represent the Kingdom in meetings of the OPEC Board of Governors, the Economic Commission Board, and the Joint OPEC and non-OPEC Technical Committee.

Contribute to the development of the Ministry of Energy’s strategy toward global oil markets.

Review OPEC+ countries’ conformity with the Declaration of Cooperation (DoC) and the compensation mechanism.

Prepare periodic reports on global oil supply-demand dynamics and inventory levels and assess their impact on market stability and balance.

Monitor administrative affairs related to the OPEC Secretariat and prepare corresponding reports.
- 7
Conduct and submit short-term economic and technical studies on the global oil markets.
